Growing up, I never really considered myself a great cook . . . you can ask my brother, on second thought, don't ask him, lol:-)!!!  But recently I have developed a love for healthy living chefing (I made up this word, ha, ha).  Using fresh veggies, fruits, and lovely seasoning, I'm on my way to "cooking better and loving it!"  And,  my family is enjoying the fine results . . . I think, lol:-)!

Today, it's fresh cabbage, made with sweet red onions, green bell peppers, cinnamon, paprika, olive oil, a pinch of sea salt, and my secret ingredient!  With this, we will enjoy a nicely baked chicken stuffed with celery and onions!!!  Let's go to work!!!

Childhood kitchen story . . . told in poetic form!!!

Dedicated to the memory of my dad . . . worlds's greatest chef

As I was finishing a microwave dinner, lol!
I suddenly had a flashback moment of my childhood!

Southern potato salad and meatloaf pot pie.
Homemade tea, embracing a tangy lemon taste.
Fresh collard greens cut just right . . .
creating a simmering aroma I smelled even while on a neighborhood hike!
Golden cornbread that called my name . . .
Sweet potato pie called me the same.
It's time to eat so I start to run . . .
sweat drops falling from the scorching sun.
My brother was on a bike ride long gone,
so I used my "Outside Voice" to say brother come on.
No sooner than I could step on the porch,
flash brother was in the kitchen asking for more!
